Please "Join the Journey" with us! I am excited to introduce myself as the Primary School Library Media Specialist.

I am a proud member of this community and have worked within the district since 2000. You may know my husband, Lance Taggart (the local barber), my son, Spencer, and my daughter, Sayde. I have taught 3rd, 5th, and 2nd grade during my stay here at Southern Boone. Throughout my experience as an educator, I have developed a strong passion for literacy.  I absolutely adore books and using technology with our students! 

I received my Bachelors of Education from Columbia College and Masters of Integrating Arts in the Classroom from Lesley University.   Because of my education, I feel it is the educator's job to reach all students with their own personal interests at all levels. My goal in the Library is to incorporate the classroom curriculum and my passion for reading into the Library using technology. Throughout the year, all students will be learning the processes of the Library, researching 2 continents, and most importantly being motivated to discover their personal interests. We will explore, embrace, and experience this "Journey" together!

This is my 5th year at Southern Boone Primary. I spent my first 3 years as a Special Education Instructional Aide/Paraprofessional. This is my second year as a Library Instructional Aide and I am excited about this opportunity! I loved from the Missouri State Fair town of Sedalia, MO to Ashland in 2019 to be closer to some of my family. I have 4 children, 2 girls (Leslie & Nicole who live in Ashland and Columbia, and 2 step-children (Derek & Lisa) who live in Montana and North Carolina. They have blessed me with 5 beautiful granddaughters (Maddie, Harper, Olivia, Maggie, and Lawson). I love being a part of the Southern Boone Primary Family!
